The Verkhovna Rada in the second reading adopted bill No. 8172 on the use of vehicles equipped with electric motors, which implies the provision of half of the parking spaces in the construction projects of new apartment buildings.
The corresponding document was supported by 259 parliamentarians on February 24.
So, according to the document, developers must provide at least 50% of the places when arranging parking lots for cars with electric motors. In particular, electric charging stations should be equipped and it should be possible to connect to them with a separate commercial electricity metering. The law also provides for a ban on the purchase of diesel buses for public transport from 2030.
As noted in the explanatory note, taking into account the existing problems, it became necessary at the legislative level to eliminate the gap in the uncertainty of the timing of the electric vehicle, as well as fix in advance the direction of development of public transport through environmentally friendly transport, defining this direction as a priority for the formation of state policy in the field of motor transport.
In addition, in connection with the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, the main logistics routes for fuel supplies were violated and significant damage was caused to domestic critical infrastructure facilities of the oil and gas complex. As a result, there is a significant increase in prices and a shortage of traditional sources of automotive fuel.
