Development strategy of Kharkov: the smart lights and solar power plant for the University

In a document that is a guide in the development of the city in the coming years, a lot of ambitious plans in different spheres of life, not the exception — and energy efficiency of the city.

At the closest session of city Council deputies will consider "the Strategy of development of Kharkiv till 2020". In a document that is a guide in the development of the city in the coming years, a lot of ambitious plans in different spheres of life, not the exception — and energy efficiency of the city. "Today" figured out how to actually make Kharkiv a city with cheap energy.

According to the developers of the strategy in this area the city should solve several problems, in particular to reduce the burden of the cost of energy services on a budget, to decide the question of the dependence of heat-generating equipment of the city from scarce gas and upgrade the energy infrastructure. In the Strategy document there are several ways of solving problems, starting with reduced tariffs for residents that implement energy efficient technologies in their homes to development projects of heat pump technology. There are documents and more intricate plans: for example, a street lighting system want to make "smart", and supply the lights with sensors, as well as for heating and hot water in the budgetary institutions of the city want to use solar.

Hall said: not the fact that in this direction will in the end be able to realize all our plans, but at least officials will follow the desired course. "The strategy identifies where we are going, and under this movement will make the target program with specific activities — says the head of image projects management of investment development and image projects Konstantin Kudryavtsev. — The program will create the relevant departments and organizations, taking into account those projects that were offered and will offer developers".

Among them may be some projects that have recently won the city investment tender. In the field of energy efficiency experts has selected four ideas, some of them have already started to implement. For example, at the University of urban economy create Ukraine's first demonstration Center of energy saving technologies. The essence of the project is to transform the educational building of the University area of 750 sq. m in a building with zero energy balance.

"The first stage we have already implemented — has commissioned a solar power station with capacity of 10 kilowatts. Next year we plan to build the second phase of the power plant with the same capacity, — says Vice-rector on scientific work of the UNIVERSITY, Maria Swan goose. In General, we are planning to do a complete thermo-modernization of buildings, modernization of heating system using heat pump, the introduction of energy-efficient lighting and, in fact, the installation of automated control system of energy in the building."

Sukhonos says as budgetary institutions, the University has a big problem with the rising costs of energy. And the establishment of the Center will be a shining example for solving such problems for all other "public sector". According to Maria Swan goose, if all of the energy efficient plans to bring to mind, the funds invested will be repaid in seven years.

The authors of another project-the winner proposed to reconstruct the heating system of a residential building taken separately, achieving 40% energy savings. Another interesting project aims at concert hall "Ukraine". They want to equip solar power, which will allow Autonomous lighting cascade fountain with lights in the garden of Shevchenko, and also adjacent to the zoo grounds.
