InterContinental opens 5* hotel in Lviv

Already in 2017 after the reconstruction of the Lviv "Grand hotel" on Liberty Avenue will open under the Crowne Plaza chain. One of its rooms is equipped as a Museum of Leopold von Sacher-Masoch.

The Protocol of intent was signed by the Lviv city Council, the owner of the "Grand Hotel" Gregory Kozlovsky and Vice-President of the international network of InterContinental Hotels Group Aron libinson.

"Grand hotel" is one of the oldest hotels in Lviv, the guests he had taken since 1893 was privatized in 1990 During the time of independence went through several renovations and changes of ownership.

During the last reconstruction, which started in 2014, the number of rooms has doubled, from 63 to 120. Before the reconstruction the "Grand hotel" was positioned as a four star, now it will open under a new international brand like Crowne Plaza Grand Hotel Lviv will be five-star.

However, while the price of the room does not change much. "The minimum price is $ 100, it's only 10% above the highest current rate in the Lviv hotels," — said the owner of the "Grand Hotel" Gregory Kozlovsky.

International operators failed to convince, and the feasibility of ideas with the Museum of Sacher-Masoch. It was a crucial moment of the negotiations between the building owner and hotel operator, because in this building was born controversial writer. His father was the head of the gendarmerie, which is located here.

The owner of the building, Gregory Kozlowski, depart for the Museum Sacher-Masoch, one of the luxury rooms. At the new hotel planned Spa area, swimming pool, room for a casino, three meeting rooms. The staff is already recruited and will undergo training in hotels abroad.

"We open on 1 September 2017," he promised Kozlovsky.

"This is an important point for the tourism industry of the city. A five-star hotel managed by an international brand opens in the heart of the city," — commented the managing partner of ArtBuild Hotel Group Aleksei Evchenko.

He reminded that now in Lviv presents only two international networks: Ramada Lviv is opened for Euro 2012 at the entrance to the city (price of the standard from 800 UAH.), and Ibis Styles Lviv Center (Accorhotels) began work in December of last year (standard from 1181 UAH). Both hotels are positioned as a three star.

As for other projects of InterContinental Hotels Group in Ukraine, voiced earlier, that their fate is now a big question. In the capital, four-star hotel Crowne Plaza intended to open for Euro-2012 as a part of ITT-Plaza.

"Now this project is frozen, like many other international brands. Visually Marriott Golden Gate and Aloft on Lesya Ukrainka look almost ready, but work there still. Yes and no demand now in the capital for a new four or five-star hotels," he assured Evchenko.
